3 Ways to Support My Campaign Would you like to support my Running for Change campaign?  There are three ways you can support me along this journey: 1.  You can make a tax-deductible donation to my campaign by visiting https://2ndmilemissions.reachapp.co/campaigns/running-for-change 2.  You can pray for my journey.  Pray that I would have the strength, both mental and physical to complete the journey.  Also, pray that I would remain safe and free from injury while pounding the streets and putting a ton of miles on my feet and my legs! 3.  You can pray for 2nd Mile Missions.  Pray that we would continue to put God at the forefront of all that we do and that we can bring more people to Christ.

40 Days of Running for Change

Today is the 40th day of my 2021 challenge.  In those 40 days, I’ve completed 228.5 miles.  I’ve run for 30 hours 42 minutes, and 33 seconds.  My map shows me inching closer to Iowa, the third of eight states I’ll cross along the way to California.  Based on my pace calculations, I’m 7 miles ahead of where I needed to be after 40 days.  Not bad for a 40-year-old man, if I don’t say so myself. :-) I can’t say that these 40 days have been easy, nor that I expected them to be.  There have been times that I didn’t want to get out of bed for an early morning run.  Times my legs and my feet have ached from the pounding of the road under my feet.  I’ve even wondered a few times if I could actually accomplish this wild and crazy goal.   In the Bible, the number 40 is mentioned 159 times throughout the old and the new testaments.  God flooded the earth for 40 days and 40 nights, Moses wandered through the desert for 40 years, and Jesus fasted for 40 days.  Overall, 40 is a number in the Bible

It's Officially Official

1 Corinthians 9:24-27  Do you not know that in a race, all the runners run, but only one gets the prize? Run in such a way to get the prize. Everyone who competes in the games goes into strict training. They do it to get a crown that will not last, but we do it to get a crown that will last forever. Therefore I do not run like someone running aimlessly; I do not fight like a boxer beating the air. No, I strike a blow to my body and make it my slave so that after I have preached to others, I myself will not be disqualified for the prize.   Crazy runner alert ! I'm planning to run 2,021 miles on a virtual run from my home in Bourbon, Indiana to the Santa Monica Pier in Santa Monica, California. Along the way, I plan to raise $20,021 for 2nd Mile Missions. Sound crazy? You might be right! But I'm asking God to show up big in 2021 and you can join me. Read my story below!   Running has been a part of my life since I was about 10 years old. To be completely honest, I don't remem
